About The Author
In 2022 Michael D. Park was recognized as a Kajukenbo Grand Master by the Board of Advisors for the original Kajukenbo Self-Defense Institute, Inc. of Hawaii and World-Wide. That same year he was named the successor to SGM James Kaleohano Roberts, the last living black belt in Hawaii promoted by the founder Sijo Adriano Emperado.
He began studying martial art in 1963 but his first black belt was delayed during the Vietnam-Era until he came home on leave from the Army before being deployed to West Germany. In 2017 he was inducted in the Kenpo International Hall of Fame and promoted to 10th degree Judan (Professor) as an associate of the Tracy Kenpo Organization.
Despite achieving so much in his martial art avocation he also retired with over 33 years in combat arms, counterintelligence, Federal Law Enforcement and Special Operations. Today Michael Park teaches an all-adult black belt class and sponsors the annual Red K Luau and Seminar in in Plano, Texas.
